US: Construction and design products company Outdoor Living Supply has acquired Mid-Atlantic Concrete Products (MACP) and South-Atlantic Concrete Products (SACP). MarketLine News has reported that MACP president Ken Armistead will move to an ambassadorial role, while SACP president Rich Kearney will join Outdoor Living Supply in the newly-created position of vice president, commercial and wholesale.
SACP president Rich Kearney said "Outdoor Living Supply provides us with expanded resources and a powerful growth platform, helping us take our commercial sales, talented team, loyal customers and suppliers to new levels."
Outdoor Living Supply CEO Brian Price said "We are thrilled to have the teams at MACP and SACP join Outdoor Living Supply. These partnerships enhance our existing store network in North Carolina and Georgia and give us a significant foothold in the commercial hardscape market."
Thornton Williams becomes permanent Fletcher Building Concrete CEO
12 September 2024New Zealand: Fletcher Building has appointed Thornton Williams as CEO of its Concrete division. Williams has served as acting CEO of the division since 29 March 2024. The group noted Williams’ ‘significant’ leadership role in driving culture, customer satisfaction and sustainability. He has also been its chief financial officer (CFO) from 2021, before which he was group general manager, treasury and risk. He previously worked in dealer roles at Australia-based banking group ANZ and the Bank of New Zealand. Williams holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
Incoming group CEO and managing director Andrew Reding said "Thornton brings to the role a deep understanding of the commercial drivers of the Concrete business and the competitive landscape. He is therefore well-positioned to lead this high-performing division, not only as Fletcher Building navigates the current challenging trading conditions but also as economic conditions start to improve and opportunities for profitable and sustainable growth emerge.” Reding added “I look forward to working closely with Thornton and the Fletcher Building executive team when I formally commence my role on 30 September 2024. US: The ready-mix concrete and heavy building materials producer Knife River Corporation has appointed Patricia Chiodo to its board of directors. Chiodo will serve on the board's audit and compensation committees. The company says that she brings a ‘wealth of financial expertise.’ She previously held the position of chief financial officer at Verra Mobility Corporation, from which she stepped down in 2022, prior to which she was chief financial officer at RSC Holdings. Chiodo is also a member of UNS Energy Corporation’s audit committee and has served on the audit committee of Embark Technology.
Knife River Corporation chair Karen Fagg said "Tricia is an accomplished business leader with experience in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, risk management and capital markets. When we chose to expand the board and add another independent director, we were looking for someone with Tricia's combination of financial expertise, experience with public companies and proven skills as a team builder.
