FP McCann acquires Macrete Ireland
27 January 2025UK: FP McCann Group has acquired Country Antrim-based precast concrete producer Macrete Ireland. The Irish News has reported that Macrete Ireland's Ballymaguigan plant has integrated into FP McCann's network of 10 other precast concrete plants in Northern Ireland.
FP McCann reportedly says that it is the largest precast concrete producer in the UK, with nine further plants operating in Great Britain. It announced a €107m investment in capacity expansion across its operations in August 2024.
Huaxin Cement acquires Embu Engenharia e Comércio
22 January 2025Brazil: China-based Huaxin Cement has acquired Embu Engenharia e Comércio for US$186m. Migalhas News has reported that Embu Engenharia e Comércio mines 8.8Mt/yr of aggregates across its four quarries in São Paulo Metropolitan Region.
The completed acquisition marks the entry of the global top-10 cement producer into the Brazilian market. It previously acquired Brazil-based InterCement’s South African business in December 2023.
Romcim to acquire two concrete plants in Iași
17 January 2025Romania: Romcim, a subsidiary of Ireland-based CRH, has concluded a deal with BCC Agregate Betoane for the acquisition of two ready-mix concrete plants in Iași County. The Romania Journal newspaper has reported that the proposed acquisition is under review by Romania’s Competition Council.
Del Zotto Concrete Products acquires Gulf Coast Ready Mix
08 January 2025US: Precast concrete products specialist Del Zotto Concrete Products has announced its acquisition of Florida-based Gulf Coast Ready-Mix. Cision News has reported that Gulf Coast Ready Mix produces ready-mix concrete and concrete blocks for the Citrus County market and surrounding areas.
Breedon Group acquires Micromix (Northern)
08 January 2025UK: Breedon Group has acquired County Durham-based Micromix (Northern). InsiderMedia News has reported that Micromix (Northern)’s 25-ready-mix concrete truck fleet supplies small-batch deliveries to private and commercial customers in the North of England and parts of Scotland.
US: Taiheiyo Cement USA has acquired California-based building materials producer Grimes Rock’s ready-mixed concrete and aggregates assets. Reuters has reported that the acquisition also includes some ‘affiliated’ assets.
Poeppelman Materials & Pepcon acquires Coate Concrete Products
06 January 2025US: Concrete and aggregates company Poeppelman Materials & Pepcon has acquired precast concrete producer Coate Concrete Products, local press has reported. Coate Concrete Products is based in West Milton, Ohio. Poeppelman Materials & Pepcon currently supplies its products to markets in Ohio and Indiana.
Eagle Materials to acquire Bullskin Stone & Lime
02 January 2025US: Eagle Materials has entered into an agreement to acquire aggregates producer Bullskin Stone & Lime for US$153m. Bullskin Stone & Lime serves the Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania market. Eagle Materials expects to close the deal in the first quarter of 2025.
Eagle Materials president and CEO Michael Haack said the deal "complements and extends our network of aggregates quarries and cement plants and terminals in the region."
ST Wooten acquires Capital Ready Mix Concrete
18 December 2024US: Construction firm ST Wooten has acquired Pennsylvania-based Capital Ready Mix Concrete. The Courier-Tribune newspaper has reported that the producer operates four ready-mix concrete batching plants in Pittsburgh.
