CRH acquires Dutra Materials
18 November 2024US: Ireland-based CRH has acquired California-based aggregates and asphalt producer Dutra Materials. The FT newspaper has reported that the business will join CRH’s Americas Materials Solutions business.
CRH Americas Materials Solutions president Scott Parson said “Following our entry into California earlier this year via the acquisitions of BoDean Company and Northgate Ready Mix, we are excited to expand our presence.”
Cordatus Capital invests in Titan Ready Mix
14 November 2024US: Equity firm Cordatus Capital has completed an investment in Texas-based Titan Ready Mix. Titan Ready Mix produces ready-mix concrete in Cresson, Springtown and Venus to supply the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area. Cordatus Capital says that it aims to accelerate the producer’s regional expansion, including through potential new acquisitions in North Texas.
Cordatus Capital partner Kevin Lippincott said "Although Titan is a relatively new entrant in the Dallas-Fort Worth ready-mix market, CEO Danny Paterson and chief operating officer Jeremy Briggs have already helped position it as the standard for delivering consistent, quality product on time and at fair value."
Oldcastle Infrastructure acquires Cook Concrete Products
12 November 2024US: CRH subsidiary Oldcastle Infrastructure has acquired precast concrete company Cook Concrete Products. Cook Concrete Products produces and sells precast elements in California, Oregon and Nevada.
Oldcastle Infrastructure president Jason Jackson said "Adding Cook Concrete Products to our business fills a geographic gap, bringing manufacturing capability and product breadth that will enable Oldcastle Infrastructure to deliver more value to our customers in the region."

Wienerberger acquires Betonarna Lesonice
15 October 2024Czech Republic: Austria-based Wienerberger has successfully acquired concrete paving products company Betonarna Lesonice for an undisclosed sum. Betonarna Lesonice’s auxiliary product lines include acoustic insulation.
Wienerberger CEO Heimo Scheuch said “The acquisition of Betonarna Lesonice puts us in an excellent position to meet the demand for concrete paving solutions in infrastructure and residential construction in the Czech Republic. While boosting local value-creation, this acquisition also aligns with our sustainability goals by reducing transport distances to cut emissions. It further supports the circular economy, as the solutions incorporate a high percentage of recycled materials. All these factors are integral to our value-accretive growth strategy, which has been furthered by this step.”
US: Construction and design products company Outdoor Living Supply has acquired Mid-Atlantic Concrete Products (MACP) and South-Atlantic Concrete Products (SACP). MarketLine News has reported that MACP president Ken Armistead will move to an ambassadorial role, while SACP president Rich Kearney will join Outdoor Living Supply in the newly-created position of vice president, commercial and wholesale.
SACP president Rich Kearney said "Outdoor Living Supply provides us with expanded resources and a powerful growth platform, helping us take our commercial sales, talented team, loyal customers and suppliers to new levels."
Outdoor Living Supply CEO Brian Price said "We are thrilled to have the teams at MACP and SACP join Outdoor Living Supply. These partnerships enhance our existing store network in North Carolina and Georgia and give us a significant foothold in the commercial hardscape market."
Shane Clee acquires Forden Concrete Products
04 October 2024UK: Shane Clee has acquired Forden Concrete Products, with the help of a €54,000 loan from the Development Bank of Wales. Forden Concrete Products specialises in feed and water troughs, slurry systems and foot baths for the dairy sector. Business Sale Report News has reported that the company is planning to expand its product range with an upcoming line of concrete wall panels for use in garden fencing.
Director Shane Clee said “After 24 years with Forden, this is a great opportunity to take on the business myself and work with our close-knit team to continue doing what we love and know best.”
Development Bank of Wales investment executive James Ryan said “We’re pleased to have been able to help Shane to become the new owner of Forden, particularly as it is a well-established business that employs local people. We wish the team every success.”
New Zealand: Holcim New Zealand has acquired a ready-mix concrete plant in Wanaka, Otago, and associated assets from WeMix Concrete. Quarry Magazine News has reported that Holcim New Zealand previously operated 21 ready-mix concrete plants, but just one on New Zealand’s South Island, in Christchurch, Canterbury.
Holcim New Zealand general manager Michael Miller said "WeMix Wanaka has built a strong reputation in Central Otago, and we are excited to welcome and integrate their business into the Holcim family. The purchase and expansion allow us to solidify our presence in the South Island, strengthening our commitment to innovative, sustainable building solutions across New Zealand, while continuing the high-quality service customers have come to expect from WeMix."
Fox Brothers to merge with JA Jackson following acquisition by Stellex Capital Management
26 September 2024UK: US-based Stellex Capital Management has acquired ready-mix concrete producer and haulier Fox Brothers. Fox Brothers’ portfolio also includes aggregates recycling, quarrying and muck-away services, under subsidiaries including B&W Plant Hire & Sales, Monks Training Services, Tipworx and Woods Waste. Following its acquisition by Stellex Capital Management, Fox Brothers will now merge with ready-mix concrete and aggregates producer JA Jackson.
Leube Gruppe acquires Marolt Beton
13 September 2024Slovenia: Austria-based Leube Gruppe has acquired Slovenian ready-mix concrete market leader Marolt Beton market leader. Kronen Zeitung News has reported that Marolt Beton genereted a turnover of €16m across its 10 locations in 2023.
Leube Gruppe previously expanded its presence in Austria, the Czech Republic and Germany through recent acquisitions.
Cemex acquires majority stake in RC-Baustoffe
04 September 2024Germany: Cemex has acquired a majority stake in the Berlin-based recycling company RC-Baustoffe to enhance its circularity business Regenera. The company processes construction, demolition and excavation materials. The acquisition integrates RC-Baustoffe with Regenera, allowing the facility to process up to 400,000t/yr, which will be turned into repurposed aggregates for concrete production.
CEO of Cemex, Fernando González, said “With acquisitions such as this, Cemex continues to strengthen its commitment to circularity through Regenera as well as promoting the world’s transition to a more circular economy. Construction and demolition materials account for more than 30% of global ‘waste’ streams and reintegrating these materials into the construction value chain can reduce the use of virgin raw materials."
