US: Hilltop Basic Resources says it will discontinue operations at its Downtown Cincinnati ready-mix concrete batching plant by the end of January 2025. The Enquirer newspaper has reported that the producer will subsequently open a new plant 6km away in Cincinnati Riverside, completing its relocation there later in 2025. The former Downtown site will become a car park in service of local sports and music venues.

US: A Licking County court has upheld the county council’s decision to deny a permit for Shelly Co. to build a ready-mix concrete batching plant near Alexandria. The company’s proposal also included the construction of an asphalt mixing plant at the site in Ohio. Local press has reported that Shelly Co. failed in its attempt to argue that floodplain regulations did not apply to the site due to its historical use as an aggregates quarry.

US: Chingle has announced plans for its upcoming Etna ready-mix concrete plant in Ohio’s Licking County. Local press has reported that the Etna Township Board of Zoning Appeals evaluated the company’s plans at a meeting on 30 January 2024.
