Costa Rica: Holcim Costa Rica has formally requested approval from the Competition Commission to acquire a ready-mix concrete plant and an aggregates site from América Construcciones, Noticias Financieras News has reported. Holcim Costa Rica’s existing assets include a cement plant and alternative fuels (AF) processing unit, along with quarries and retail outlets belonging to its Disense chain.
The acquisition will advance Holcim’s regional expansion strategy, which also included the acquisition of Cemex’s Guatemalan business in September 2024.
