Canada: Phosphate mining company Arianne Phosphate and recycling company Travertine Technologies have produced a precipitated calcium carbonate co-product of purified phosphoric acid suitable for use in concrete production. A building materials end user has already qualified the product in one of its formulations. The material acts as a permanent CO₂ store, according to the partners.
