Portugal: Cimpor has launched Havelar by Cimpor, following a strategic investment in existing 3D printing construction firm Havelar. Local press has reported that the company is already engaged in 3D printing 16 blocks of 32 units for the Mariadeira residential project in Póvoa de Varzim. Fellow Cimpor subsidiary OYAK Çimento is also building a 3D-printed housing development in Hatay, Türkiye.
Cimpor says that Havelar by Cimpor’s strategy involves the development of new 3D-printable alternative binders, including using construction and demolition materials (CDM), and market development in other European countries, Africa, the Americas and the Middle East.
