Premier Concrete Products to install concrete pipes unit at Livingston Parish concrete plant
04 October 2024US: Premier Concrete Products is expanding its Livingston Parish concrete plant in Louisiana with the construction of a new concrete pipes production unit. The company plans to invest US$10m in the line. It will employ 33 workers when operational later in 2024. It will be equipped with an automated concrete batching system, ‘high-level’ curing equipment and overhead cranes.
President Cody Colvin said “We are excited about the partnership we have with the Livingston Parish community.” He added, “This expansion will add jobs and will serve to satisfy a shortage of precast concrete infrastructure that currently exists in Louisiana and the Southern US. We are very excited to work with Livingston Parish President Randy Delatte and the whole Livingston community.”
Israel: Cemex subsidiary ReadyMix Industries has placed a new order with transport safety technology supplier SaverOne 2014. The ready-mix concrete producer ordered a further 25 mobile phone control units for its truck fleet. The units are cloud-enabled and run off a mobile app which blocks drivers from using phones when their vehicle is in motion. The smart system can detect when a truck is stopped and differentiate between driver and passenger, enabling access when needed. Users can integrate their fleet's units with existing logistics management systems.
ReadyMix Industries completed a successful trial of SaverOne 2014's system earlier in 2022.
